Norman D Milne

September 12, 1938 — December 6, 2014

Norman D. Milne passed away peacefully at the age of 76, after a short battle with cancer at the Elko Hospital with his wife of 54 years by his side. He was born September 12, 1938 in Mammoth, Utah to Duane & Lila Bigler Milne where he was raised with siblings Myron & Allen.

Norman married his wife Nancy Lee Bird of Eureka, Utah on June 25, 1960. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple in 1995. Norman joined the US Air Force in December 1956 and took his family to visit the world. He retired in June 1980.

After retiring they moved to Utah where he went to school for 2 years. In 1983 they moved to Elko, Nevada where he worked at the US Post Office until he retired in 2009.

Norman was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, uncle and friend. He always put his family first. He was active in the LDS Church where he had many callings.

He is survived by his wife Nancy of Spring Creek, NV, daughters, Diana Milne of Carlin, NV, Deborah (Dave) Howard of Spring Creek, NV and Deanna (Tom) Wall of Houston, TX. He has 10 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Two brothers, Myron (Beverly) Milne of Martinez, CA and Allen (Jean) Milne of Tucson, AZ. He was preceded in death by his parents.

There will be a viewing Thursday evening at the Spring Creek LDS 5 th Ward building at 234 Boyd Kennedy Road in Spring Creek from 5pm to 7 pm. Graveside services will be held on Friday at the Eureka City Cemetery in Eureka, Utah at 1 pm. In lieu of flowers please send a donation to the VA Fisher House at 690 Valdez Circle, Salt Lake City, UT 84148. Funeral services are under the direction of Southern Utah Mortuary in Beaver, Utah.
