John Patrick Mason

John Patrick “Sam” Mason, age 67, passed away on January 25, 2016 in Caliente, NV. He was born on January 6, 1949 in Twin Falls, Idaho to James Alvin and Mary Hathaway Mason.

“Sam” attended Lincoln County High School. He then joined the Army and served as a mechanic. He enjoyed softball and baseball. He loved the mountains. He made furniture out of wood. He played the guitar. He would go deer hunting and fishing. His favorite fishing holes were Sunnyside and Eagle Valley Reservoir. He collected arrowheads. He took his daughter shooting.

John Patrick is survived by his daughter, Mary Marie Mason of Caliente, NV; his sons, John Berry Palmari of Reno, NV (girlfriend, Lisa Cramer) and Milton John Mason of Seattle, WA; 3 grandchildren, Dakota Mason, Camille Palmari and John Palmari; his brother, James Berry Mason of Las Vegas, NV; his sister, Vicki Blackburn of Idaho; nephew Troy Wilkinson of Montpelier, ID; and his good old pal Bill Connor (Geniel) of Pioche, NV.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, February 6, 2016 at 11:00 am at the VFW Building (391 Dixon Street, Caliente, NV). Arrangements are being handled by Southern Nevada Mortuary.
