Dorlene (Cutler) Sharp

Dorlene Cutler Sharp was born on August 8, 1933 in Alamo, NV. She was the daughter of Morton Cutler and Ethel Hortense Bruno. She was the youngest of thirteen children and the last member of her family to leave this life on earth.

She is survived by the love of her life and high school sweetheart, Joseph Lewis Sharp. They were married on September 5, 1952 and later sealed for time and eternity in the Las Vegas Temple on August 9, 2002. She was the proud mother of three children, Jolene (Robert Hosier), Darla (Gary Davis) and Lewis (Brenda England). Dorlene was blessed with ten grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and the posterity is still growing.

Besides raising a family, Dorlene worked for 17 years as the attendance secretary and librarian at the Pahranagat Valley High School. She served in several church positions including Relief Society president for many years, as well as many Sunday School and Primary callings. She also worked in the Las Vegas Temple with her husband. She was blessed with a beautiful voice, and shared her gift along side her sweetheart by singing at countless weddings and funerals.

Joe and Dorlene have always been a great example of a loving and devoted couple. Dorlene always felt that her calling as wife and mother was her greatest accomplishment. Her family was her pride and joy and she was a great example to them. She was a loving, gracious, and caring woman who was always thinking of others and will truly be missed.

Dorlene passed away onSaturday, December 13, 2014 in Las Vegas, NV surrounded by her family. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 20, 2014 at 11:00 am with the viewing starting at 9:30 am. Services will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Alamo, NV.  Interment will follow at the Richardville Cemetery under the direction of Southern Nevada Mortuary.
